Tarnished

He called her his tarnished angel
Can never see her the same way
Turns away from her tears
Walking away from months of love
    Knowing full well she's lost him
    Trying to pretend it doesn't hurt
    Letting him leave her
    Her halo crashing to the floor
Her tears turn to diamonds in her hands
Blood money for bare breasts
He had said he was right there beside her
